A Free Gift for You

“Do not be deceived, my beloved brethren. Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.” James 1:16, 17

Good Gifts?

Though these items can be thought of as good gifts, the passage may not be referring to trinkets created by men. God has provided us the best gift of all and see how man has snubbed their noses at Him? This generation has grown addicted to receiving gifts and seeking after the next new thing under the sun.

What would be consider a good gift from God?

What would be consider a good gift from God? A job perhaps? Especially in this economy. A boost to your business? Maybe a newborn baby if you have been trying for awhile? a much needed vacation for your family? Some might need a caring friend.

What does God consider a good gift to be? I believe God wants to have  a good relationship with us. There you have it a relationship with God!

If you look to King Solomon. At one time God asked Solomon “Ask for whatever you want me to give you?” 2 Chronicles 1:7. Can you imagine God the Creator of the universe asking you that question?  Do you know how Solomon responded?

Solomon’s Gifts from God

2 Chronicles 1:8-12

Solomon answered God, “You have shown great kindness to David my father and have made me king in his place. Now, Lord God, let your promise to my father David be confirmed, for you have made me king over a people who are as numerous as the dust of the earth. Give me wisdom and knowledge, that I may lead this people, for who is able to govern this great people of yours?”

There is a big difference in the way Solomon responded and the way the people of our generation would act, often times we lose our way because most of us look at our circumstances and see a mountain instead of the way God sees it. We lose sight of whats really important. It time to take a step back and reevaluate our surroundings and allow the Lord God to move in our lives. Let Him be the potter for once.

God said to Solomon, “Since this is your heart’s desire and you have not asked for wealth, possessions or honor, nor for the death of your enemies, and since you have not asked for a long life but for wisdom and knowledge to govern my people over whom I have made you king, therefore wisdom and knowledge will be given you.  I will also give you wealth, possessions and honor, such as no king who was before you ever had and none after you will have.”

God has given his creation the ultimate love gift by sending Jesus Christ to die on the cross to pay for your sin debt once and for all. So that you and I may be spared from eternal fires of hell. Run into the loving arms of Jesus and build on you saving relationship with the Eternal living God. God has torn down the (barrier of sin) between God and man.

God’s Good and Perfect Gift to us

John 3:16

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

Today Choose Christ. Choose to surrender your heart to Him. Pray this Prayer, “Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner, I know I have made a mess of my life and I believe you died on the Cross to pay for ALL my sins, Past and future. Jesus, I ask you to come into my heart today and save me. And now I know I am save forever. Thank You God. Amen!
